I fuckin hate the BoM - about 10 years ago I went to get a mortage on my first house. I was paying $750/month rent (for winnipeg that's HIGH and a NICE pad 10 years ago) but since I was only 4 years self employed at that point even though I had a good income they told me a $420/month mortage was far too much. UNREAL!!! I walked out and into a credit union that just laughed at that and told me to pretty much go buy any house I wanted. Never been back to the BoM since and done all my business with credit unions ever since.
