I still don't understand why people still fuck with perl. Why not use Ruby or Python? Particularly with Ruby, the ActiveRecord class is insanely useful for a variety of database tasks. I have no idea why more people are utilizing, or interested in it. Also, Ruby has RMagick for images, RMovie for ffmpeg-esque shit.
