Beyond that even if we do not drive that much everything else does to get our towns a cities everything we need. Imagine some of the produce prices when they have to travel over 4200 kilometers just to get to the stores.

Distances are irrelevant (it's only about the city and the country design).
From the EU-Spain to the EU-Finland it's 4500 km (I myself travelled 3 hours per day for the 6 years to the my universities, so not only you have some distance problems, it's general problem of each country...).
Guilty?
Take your gass free and i will not say single one word. It's freedom of the your market to set the price.
BUT I only don't understand what are you doing right now in the Iraq and before some time in the Kuwait, and now i'm hearing some your stories about "really bad" Iran country.
It's only my feeling or the only-one reason why you was in the Kuwait, you are in the Iraq and you are planning go to the Iran is to control the main oil production on the whole world and to support by this production (of the military controlled foreign countries) your own limited oil USA production, which not fully saturated your own market oil consumption, so your oil prices wasn't exactly and will be not the fair and clear market price?
