You know WHY it's called GOOD Friday even though it's the day Jesus died. Because if he doesn't then mans sins couldn't be forgiven and he doesn't rise from the dead to be with god. Jesus death is necessary before the new covenant can begin. This is why Judas really wasn't a traitor. Jesus wanted Judas to have him arrested so he could be martyred. The other disciples were jealous of Judas and thus he gets made into a bad guy.
