I have not heard a single attorney refute that.
I would love one of the industry lawyers to make a definitive statement one way or the other. However, the 3 that I have spoken with have all said the same thing. The FBI has gone on record with that statement and THEY have heard nothing to refute it either.

My understanding is that the listed custodian of records is legally responsible for the 2257 docs. So if some 3rd party started becoming custodian for a bunch of different people, if ANY of them have records that aren't accurate (maybe the client puts up content and doesn't add the URLs to the database for example), the custodian could face the 5 years in jail.
Do you think ANY attorney or firm is going to take legal responsibility and put their freedom on the line like that?
