Homeowners Association Wants 3-Year-Old Evicted
CLEARWATER, Fla. - A child in need of a home could force her grandparents out of theirs because their Gulf Coast community is for people 55 and over.
Kimberly Broffman's grandparents have to make a choice -- their house or their granddaughter.
"We said, 'We're not going to get rid of the baby, so we have to get rid of the house,'" said Jimmy Stottler.
When they moved into The Lakes community in Clearwater, Judie and Jimmy Stottler said they never planned to raise a child. But Judie's daughter Melanie got into trouble and they took in their granddaughter Kimberly, who was 6 months old at the time.
The arrangement was supposed to be temporary.
