The only Caveat I'd add here is that most iusers don't realize an embedded vid is one format from another. So like with the FLVs they like the preview but they would have no clue what it is.
The XVid/Divx was the issue for me because I prefer the quality but it just bore out not to be the way to go. All the Mac guys I do vido editing with love Quicktime of course and it's pretty ubiquitous as to what it'll play on but still the surfers just don't go for it the same no matter how good an argument you wanna make. Stats don't lie (although they can be misinterpreted!).
