I think its telling though that the internet adult industry has done so well in spite of piracy. People were freely trading tons and tons of pirated porn before bittorrent. I'd argue the RIAA hasnt done a damn thing to stop piracy, and only made legitimate content stifling for innovative would-be distributers and a pain for consumers (ala DRM). They are among the most hated organizations in the world, now, suing their customer base, one at a time.

People will pay for convenience, iTunes is the perfect example. How many people could go download limewire and get all those tracks for free, instead they pay Apple a dollar a pop for each download. Even with bittorrent, it can be hard to get exactly what you want. You have to be satisfied with what other people are offering at that particular moment. No guarentees on a speedy download, or video quality or anything. With a paid service you would have all that, and thats what the value is. All you have to do is be more convenient than the pirates.
