First and foremost, Susan Crawford is one major pain in the ass. I read her bio ( http://www.icann.org/biog/crawford.htm ) and I guess I understand a little bit more, but wow, was her opinion both strong and heavily misdirected. For someone who is a laywer, she seems to really not grasp how ICANN could have very easily found itself in the middle of legal hell trying to regulate content online.
Some of the other members of the board had a much clearer grasp of the concepts here, including the idea that the proposal didn't meet up with the adult community as a whole, but rather with a small group of people trying to maneuver themselves into a controlling position.

Seriosuly she sounds like she's been paid off. Most of her speech has nothing to do with the .XXX application and her specific arguements are illogical and circular. Not really congruent with what you would expect from a lawyer.
She even said the opposition to .XXX is not grassroot in the adult community and that the pre-regs are "good enough" proof.
So I wonder, what did Lawley buy this deranged cunt off with?
