Many
are working hard. Take Gannett as an example. They own USA Today.com; a very popular site. They are also a part-owner of Career Builder. Still, earnings are under extreme pressure as they own 90 newsapers and 1000 other daily publications.
This is an $8 billion/year company. Not so easy to make enough on-line advertising sales to make a dent in the decreasing circulation numbers.
