"Stalin" Tells Ukrainians to Pay Their Bills

As a rise in utility rates has caused many Ukrainians to protest by not paying, a series of advertisements that feature former Soviet Union dictator Josef Stalin have been telling people to pay their utility bills.

One billboard shows Stalin holding a piece of paper and saying "Comrades! This isn?t a film! This is life!" A television ad shows Stalin addressing a crowd, with a dubbed voice saying, "Those who don?t pay for their heat should be punished!"

Ukrainians have no great love of Stalin, whom they believed caused a devastating famine in that country in the 1930s that killed one-third of the population.
