Cheers Amateurcanada for the advice...much appreciated.
I think I understand the method of mass exposure through webmasters and the main content holders providing the affiliate schemes. How does it work for priority exposure though?
Example
thebestporn probably has a huge draw of traffic because it provides reviews of websites etc and its a one stop shop really for the punter. So am I correct that they probably only make their money on the likes of revenue share? Also other review sites provide advertising on their review webpages surely this would be at a premium as there could be more interest in these hotspots and potentially someone might be willing to pay more, then you have the likes of the search engines and adwords options.
I suppose what I'm getting at is the model you are suggesting would not be in line with the likes of the major search engines as they have no revshare options.
This being the case is there a two advertsing type streams, one being the general search engine/adword method purchasing keywords for higher placement and the second based on affiliate schemes.
I suppose the latter relies heavily on the network of webmasters providing a maximum exposure and priority exposure through the means of the best affiliate deals.
(Sorry, I'm probably stating the obvious)
I take it the affiliate scheme has the best return though?
I don't what to pry too much but what is the average earnings of:
small publisher
medium publisher
large publisher
and how much is put against advertising?
I suppose that the affiliate method just increases the unit cost of the subscription reducing the overall profit.
I hope the above makes sense? I'm just trying to understand the methodology of advertising within the industry.
Cheers
