Yup, that's an effective way, write yourself and fill it with posts from feeds here and there.
Duplicate content doesn't mean you get banned, that's bullshit, it just means the page with duplicate content may rank worse. It only becomes a problem if all or most of the posts are from one single sponsor feed, and even then it rarely leads to a ban...it just ranks shitty.
Duplicate content on the
same domain is by far more dangerous and since many people don't know how to get their templates and link structure setup correctly, 100% self written blogs are in danger as well. Why ? Because every post is indexed via 3 or 4 different URLs...and that's what hurts.
Many webmasters even let google grab www.domain.com and domain.com because they don't use 2 simple lines of code in the .htaccess, so they will get like 8 different URLs for every single post (worst case). No surprise if they get banned.
