Also, I learned in psychologly class a few years ago that most people will not step in to help strangers even if they are being murdered. There were cases documented of a woman being stabbed to death out in the open and no one helped because they thought it was a domestic disturbance and didn't want to get involved, especially in big cities where there is more disconnect and people don't feel close to each other...
