 Overall a SEO strategy should focus much more heavily on site layout, content and a number of other factors, from the customers that we provided dedicated IPs to for SEO purposes I can't recall one to mind that significantly changed his position from that change alone.

 The primary danger with shared IP's is who are you sharing them with? Dedicated is the way to go with SEO. For example, on our virtual plans we give everyone their own dedicated IP, and they can use the common server IP . . . but we don't recommend using it.
