N. California is worse. We get 8 months or so of almost zero precipitation every year and have very heavy traffic, so when it does rain (and when it rains, it usually rains very heavily) the roads gets super-slick with all the accumulated dried oil particles and dust, and people have no fucking clue how to deal with it.
The reckless fuckers and teenagers have never heard of hydroplaning, so they keep on driving their usual 90mph on the freeway, while the timid drop to 40-50mph. Everyone else just hopes they can avoid the hazards created by those two groups. Its madness during commute hours.
