Not only is that patently true - all anyone needs do is look around outside and even inside our industry - but promoting the idea that the reality is different is only the beginning of how foolish many in this business are. I don't know... it's almost as if some people want to believe this is a bad-boys industry, so that their being part of it makes them cool or whatever.

If someone is unethical and/or doesn't care about others' ethics, then - for example - he might not have an issue about sitting with a bunch of sponsors and having a good laugh over how affiliates get screwed.

But Lars is doing at least as much damage to other sponsors as to affiliates: a heck of a lot more if you relate the percentage of traffic "Zango'd" to their turnover. The content-theft sites that AFF helps monetize, for sure maybe they generate a few type-in sales. But is anyone really stupid enough to believe that number is greater than the number of sales being lost because all this member-area content is floating around?

It's not only a nonsense to claim this industry is made up of unethical people, but we make ourselves look even more foolish by letting those who are and who prey on the rest of us be a part of our industry. "A part" in the sense that they can advertise on boards, they are welcomed at shows. They are invited to speak on panels!

How stupid is that? If you get burglarized, are you going to invite the burglar round for tea?
