Well, PS3 owners will have a possibility to get HUGE games. Xbox360 users will *NOT* be getting HD-DVD *GAMES*, since everyone doesn't have the hd-dvd drive.

I personally think including the blu-ray was a smart move, even if it does bump the price of the ps3 to ridiculously high.
