Come out with your hands up. You are surrounded. . . cops are so funny
Took Buddy to the dog park. Noticed the police helicopter circling a neighborhood about three blocks away.
Could hear them over the loud speaker, "Come out with your hands up. You are surrounded. Lay down in the street and no harm will come to you." On and on.
Eventually I notice the copter increasing his circle by a few blocks. Then he is at least 10 blocks away from where he started, and more sirens in the distance as more backup appears.
Eventually, another copter appears to relieve the first one that is running out of fuel. 45 minutes later we leave, and a huge perimeter is set up.
I get the feeling that commands like give up, and you are surrounded are a little more effective if you are actually in the general vicinity of the perpetrator when giving the commands.
