Dude, they just stopped feeding dead cows, to live cows.
There are some eerie things that happen in the meat industry.
I prefer my bugs, and worms cooked and hidden inside of a nice Pork Chop, or Rack of Lamb.
Anything else would need a shit load of "smoke", and a lot of hot sauce.
