If one ever had to have that done is it possible to ask for general anesthesia or at least sedation? I would INSIST on being sedated for a procedure like that, I mean INSIST.

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out they put me on "conscious sedation" and I passed out and don't remember anything. Why didn't you ask for that?

I would die if I had to stay awake during that. It sounds very scary. Plus you will have bad memories for the rest of your life... I don't remember anything from the conscious sedation thing.. It's the way to go.
