Before the pundits chime in on the TrustSoft issue, I was employed there at the time of the FTC raid. I know what initiated it. It was a single complaint from a consumer about violatioins of the CAN-SPAM act...which TrustSoft was absolutely *NOT* in violation of. But once the FTC comes through your door they examine EVERYTHING you do -- and they were able to find a lot, resulting in the loss of my employer's fortune.
Of course, at that time the FTC did have a hard on for anything related to "Spyware" so they acted on the single complaint.
