If a company fails to offer it's product in a way that it's customer base wants that product. Well it's a simple thing someone else will likely come along and offer that product to the customer base.
Now that technology has advanced we are going to start seeing the record companies playing even less and less of a roll and I say thats a good thing.
Look at the success
OK GO had when they released their own video to you tube. That right their shows that musicians for the first time now have the opportunity to reach the masses with out the blood sucking record companies walking away with most of the musicians profits.
Sites like Myspace and You Tube allow new bands and musicians to reach the masses and get their product out there with out the need for a record company. So this takes away the record companies power to only give us what they want us to hear. The times are changing and I think it's a good thing, personally by fighting the internet I think the record companies signed their own death warrant.
