New dude needs some explainin'

Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct place, I know I sound stupid with these basic questions, but I just need someone to grab the glue and put it together for me.

I am interested in making money in adult online industry, but don't fully understand how it all works. I have lurked around the site for a little while, but still don't quite get it. It appears that there are numerous ways to make money, but I am NOT a designer, photographer, videographer, etc.

I am an advertising and marketing guy with a college degree (graduated with a B.A. in 1997), I am very familiar with the internet and online culture, and am tired of the white collar 8-5 daily grind....... maybe it was never for me.

I know it's not easy to do this gig, and I am not wearing a pair of rose-colored glasses. I just need the basics. Of course I enjoy the content, but I also realize it is for making money, and I can separate the two (and can enjoy it on the side.......).

It seems like a lot of the sites that "explain" how it works want my $$$ up front, how does that work?

How do I make money by building traffic?

How do sites make money by posting stuff for free on stuff like thehun and xnxx?

Is it better to own original content or just resell?

What are these tcpg (or whatever..?) lists that everyone is talking about?

Why do some sites show up under tons of other links or just end up being redirected to the same basic place? For example Sapphiclove or SapphicJoy or whatever it is. Or maybe those are different sites run by different people? They're really cool BTW. like, wow.

I own a few niche domain names (I've had them for a few years with no content), what should I do with them? Sell them? How else can I use them? As a portal to someones else's site and I would make money off the traffic I drive through my domain name with cookie tracking if the visitor joins? A couple are Milf related, the others are Burlesque dancing related (which kind of leans toward goth I guess... wouldn't you?).

I know this is a lot to answer, any input is appreciated. Thanks everybody.
