There are definitely some changes on the horizon. I have noticed some interesting trends coming form MSN over the last quarter. There has been some rumors over the last year and a half that suggest that MSN and Yahoo have been working on a collaboration. I am not sure if that is happening but it would appear that MSN is getting ready to make some major moves.

If you look at their new image index you can see that they have some strong kung fu. Their image index blows Google out of the water and if their new search technology follows suit they will capture a huge share of the search market.

Honestly it is about time for a shake-up in the search engine field. Google has help the lion's share for quite a long time and I agree that with Vista the average Joe surfer will take the path of least resistance and that path will lead to more traffic and more growth for live.com. Speaking of resistance, look for a huge Anti-trust battle between Google and Microsoft over Vista. Shipping a new product that results in a largely negative impact on a monolith like Google will cause some hair to fly.

With any major change in search engine technology there comes a change in SEO techniques. Does any one remember the Google of a few years back? How about the scramble to adjust the the changes?

My point here is that with time ALL search methods will change and with them the strategies and techniques associated with being productive will change. I remember a day when SEO meant stuffing as many keywords as you possibly could into any place on the page but that changed and with it SEO changed. As long as we are talking about new and interesting search technologies I might as well mention what I think is the new wave of site optimization. I am sure that I will get lambasted for SPAMMING by those of you who have forgotten that this is an industry board and not a social network. If you are one of those people please stop reading this post right now. I do not want to take away from your "play time". Now, the rest of you that would actually like to learn something that will earn you money and keep you competitive in the changing face of search technology keep reading.

First, let me preface by saying that this is not my program. I was fortunate enough to be invited to a tele-conference a few nights ago by one of the best mainstream affiliate aggregations companies and after the call I emailed, Colin the author of this program and asked him a few questions. He immediately called me at home and we had an hour-long conversation about things that I have been doing wrong for a very log time. I would venture to guess that most of you are doing the same things and while I have yet to digest all of the information I assure you that if you pass this opportunity by it will cost you thousands of dollars.

You see the interesting thing about Colin is that like most of us he learned by making mistakes and often getting ?slapped? by Google and watching his rankings fall like a lead balloon or worse disappear completely. He told me that once he stopped chasing the different ?holes? in the Google algorithm and adopted a much more holistic philosophy about search engine marketing that not only did his rankings improve but he was no longer worried about the effects of the next update. He said (and demonstrated) that his methods higher and more stable SERPs than he was ever getting before with exploiting holes in the algorithm. This kind of stability gives you profits and positioning better than anything that you could buy. Now, his methods are not just based on his own experiences but on extended communication with Matt Cutts.

I am not going to say anymore about this except to say that if you see the potential that is glaring in your face with the introduction of MSN?s new technology then you will want to read his report.
