Thailand is a cesspool. Pattaya is the worlds largest toilet bowl. Bangkok is not much better. Southern Thailand and the islands are BEAUTIFUL but to slow down there to really live year round. Great to visit, but you would go bat shit quickly.
But home is where you drop your load at... or hang your hat... or something like that.
