OK, Google unbanned the server (3h ban) and I just blasted it with the new throttling system and I remain unbanned.
So, unlimited wacking of the PR checker and now all is AOK with the search engines, as seen for the PR and backlinks for apple.com, adult.com and sex.com, which were the last 3 domains to be checked out of 290k
