I went to circuit city tonight to buy a new dvd player. the sales guy told me to wait on the bluray because in about 2-3 months, they will be half the price (not suprising because they had one on sale for $699 this week). expected price of $500 to $700 by summer.
For the meanwhile, i got the hd dvd player for the xbox 360. not 100% high def, but wow, its great... given its $199, its a sweet deal. plus it comes with the remote and king kong hd dvd.
I rented Syriana to check it out, and movie was interesting, but the graphics were awesome. im a tech geek and conveinced my gf to stay in tonight to watch a movie just so i could check it out
anyway, my final point... anyone remember laser discs? i had a flash back while in blockbuster tonight. when i was a kid, my dad bought one and i remember the 1000's of rentalable VHS tapes and a very limited selection of laser discs... ironic, thats how it was tonight with the HD DVD's and well as the BluRay selection at blockbuster
