Oral herpes and Genital herpes are both still the same (HSV). And in fact it is common, way more common then most think (1 in 5 have it supposedly).
HSV-1 & HSV-2 are both most commonly transferred through
skin to skin contact with the infected area. However, it can be trasnferred when no signs of an oubreak are apparent. Oral herpes can be trasnferred to Genital herpes, and vise versa
