All Ticos (Costa Ricans) are basically afraid of the same three things: Rottweilers, Success and Birth Control.

If you are approached by a Tico with bad intents (all of them), you probably won't have a Rottweiler handy. You can wave Condoms at them which will create a state of panic, but the only sure fire way to send a Tico running in fear is offer him a scholarship.
