This is something I found pretty annoying on South America.
Get out of a taxi and some random person runs up to open the door and expects a tip. Get your groceries and someone runs up to put it in a bag and expects a tip. Go to walk into anything and someone decides to open a door, park your car and pay a fee orelse your car gets scratched to shit. Granted it wasn't much money, but fuck me - need to carry around a few thousand coins every time you went outside...
As others have said, here in Australia, we only rarely tip - maybe for restaurants but only if the service is good or waittress is hot
