This is not true, it's an illusion spamcop created.
You need to understand that for a spammer some million emails less doesnt mean anything. If you do not want to receive an email, you try to unsubscribe but nothing happens you're going to act in a way a spammer doesn't want. Spammers do not want on their lists people that complain.
Complaints=problems=cost.
