Is anyone out there doing doing anything truly original?
Reading through GFY, it seems most people are either doing gallery stuff pushing people to pay sites or AVS sites, running the pay / AVS sites or producing content.
Most of the actualy sites I see pretty much stick to a formula of pushing joe public towards the final goal of a pay site with photo/video content, and splitting the revenue with 20 other people along the way.
It's quite rare to see anything more than sites selling content. There seems to be very few truly interactive, fun and "sticky" sites.
I come from an ISP background and always found the communitcation part the most exciting aspect of being online. Looking at pictures is fun, but there's so much free content out there, doesn't the average 'customer' keep his credit card in his wallet and just download all the free stuff he/she can?
Where are the sites aimed at women? Where's all the mobile sites? Where's the excitement? Are things changing? Are current trends too driven by "webmasters" sat in their bedrooms submitting endless TGPs for a few bucks a month? Am I completely out of touch?
(Ok. You can flame me now.)

We may qualify for original I guess ....
http://www.cumkaraoke.com/guests.html . Most webmasters here are stuck on the idea that things that worked 3 years ago must still work now, however. The industry is in a shitty state , and the more webmasters that keep creating new ways to sneak a cc charge on someones bill as opposed to trying to improve the product being offered , the quicker more regulations will be put on the industry as a whole. Does trapping a surfer in a barrage of uncloseable popup ads make you X amount more cash per surfer? Sure. Does pissing people off enough to where they have to reboot their pc's make people wanna come back? No. 4 years ago you could get away with alot more shit and people were still willing to keep paying , those days are over.
