Where exactly are you getting that information from? I had my satellite guy and multiple TV sales people all laughing at the idiots who go out and buy expensive cables. Every single one of them told me the companies selling these "top of the line" cables are making a fortune because they convince consumers there is a difference, when in fact, there is not. I was told the cheapest one I could find would be just the same as the most expensive one.
I ordered the HD satellite and DVR receiver package from Direct TV after I bought my LCD and there was an HDMI cable included inside the box with the DVR, so luckily I didn't have to buy one at all.
