Be careful before buying a DVI <-> HDMI cable if you want wo connect a PC (Media Center or something) to a display that doesn't has a standard 720 or 1080 resolution. The point is, that my plasma TV has a resolution of 1366x768 and this resolution is not supportet on the HDMI/DVI input! The only solution for me was to connect the PC with a normal VGA cable. The picture looks very good after the automatic calibration of the TV with the inputted VGA signal.
Summary: If all devices support native HD resolutions, then buy a HDMI cable. But if you want to use non standard resolutions, then in most cases the digital connection doesn't work.
