The Matrix started strong but started to disappoint the closer it got to the end.
LOTR just got better and better....
Star Wars peaked with The Empire Strikes Back but was pretty solid all the way through.
The Godfather fell apart in part 3.
Therefore, I'd have to go with LOTR... in your list.
However, I'm going to hold judgement until Pirates of the Caribbean part 3 comes out to see how it fairs.
