I wouldn't put $100 bucks on chelsea in a bookie, well, I just wouldn't, because that would mean that I just lost $100 and may theoretically win $400 or so in 4 months

but in a pool like this, you don't spend anything in advance, you just name your team and if we have 6 people naming different teams, then if none of these teams wins the cup, then noone loses anything, but if one team indeed wins, then the winner takes $600 without having spent anything
