My wife works for a huge medical company. The company wanted to sign on a doctor from Miami to there network. So this doctor sold him home and moved to the Tampa area.
Well now another doctor in the network sued the new doctor that the company because he opened a office that is within 5 miles of his office. Officially the office he opened was 4.9 miles and in the next county but the contract stated 5 miles.
So the whole thing ends up in court. The doctor that was suing the new doctor got awarded $400k and 25% of his profits from his office every year for the next 5 years plus some other stuff.
To make a long story short the new doctor now will be making $40k less a year then he did before he left Miami. After a month of severe depression he took his life thursday night
