My recommendation would be to check our PremiumDrops.com - they list expiring domain names and break it down for you in several different ways. The problem is that typically right after domain names expire (assuming they are not captured on a backorder or taken to auction) they are picked up by "tasters" who check for traffic. If it has decent traffic, they keep it. If not they let it go. Then another "Taster" will pick it up and try it again. This process happens several times. I would recommend checking droplists from 2 weeks back - If you search, and your smart about it you can find some great Gems.
Also, there happens to be a service that does all the work for you and makes a daily list of the available "gems". If your interested please feel free to ICQ me and I'll give you the address. I dont want to spam the boards with it.
