Can't say anything about "filtering" aico, but it is clear the US admin have adopted the "it's impossible - it doesn't exist - it's a left wing conspiracy - any excuse of the day" type bullshit while the rest of the world are well-aware and on initial stages of doing something about it.
That same "policy" has been spread by the admin spokesman - that alleged news channel, Fox (where each "newscaster" is a "personality" and an unqualified opinion on every subject under the sun) - the bullshit they spew on "global warming" is laughable, but chances are many actually believe it - as you can see from this thread.
The reasons are obvious - possible threats to the economy etc if any attempts to cut down emissions were enforced. But.. the cost will be enforced in the end out of necessity and little surprise there is more attention - the sooner that starts and is sustained, the cost will probably be less in the end.
