My wisdom teeth were also impacted - they had to chip them out and gave me the pieces afterwards (I put them under my pillow but all I got was a bill from the tooth fairy
)
Hopefully they gave you some medicine to take before the surgery to keep the swelling down AND you took them
Be SURE to keep the new holes you have in your mouth VERY clean (irrigated - if they didn't give you a large syringe to do this with, get one). And ICE PACKS. Get some of the little ones and tie them to your face - trust me on this, it works.
I was bruised all the way down my neck and to my boobs - it looked like someone had beat the crap out of me
