i dont know what "why we fight" is...but its my firm belief that we fight for the same basic reasons that any living organism does. we are driven by a primal need to insure our own safety, security (real or percieved) and to grow and expand. its part of what we are and a natural tendancy thats firmly engrained in our own genetics. it can be said of bacteria or monkeys or any living creature. i also believe that we are simple animals that are set apart from other animals primarily by the ability to convince ourselves that we are something greater and better and more "civilized". we possess the unique ability to console ourselves, to rationalize our feelings and behaviors, to justify our actions no matter how brutal they might be - yet the fact of the matter is that we behave no different than a group of primates.... while in a sad irony, we are continually convincing ourselves we don't.
we will always fight. its what we are. its who we are.
