I understand your point though. Sex ed was always a bit embarassing at first for everyone..
Try to think back to sex ed class ( im having a hard time remembering myself ) . I remember the teacher asking questions that were a bit embarassing , i wouldn't say humiliating. he wasnt asking them to draw their own penis in actual size or anything..
I'm trying to put myself in the situation you speak of when i was in grade 7 , It would be akward if you were the first person who was asked.. "hey smokey , draw a penis on the chalkboard in front of the class". I was a class clown though i prob would have said . OK i'll draw yours ( tiny ) or mine ( huge ) lol
But i remember having to draw female anatomy, not sure if it was in front of the class. But i would have no problem being asked or having my kids asked to do that in grade 7
