If you trademark a name it can't be used in competition with you. Meaning ifyou own NikkiLicks.com for an adult site and someone registers NikkiLicks.xxx and uses it for adult purposes you can sue them for infringement. You may also sue them for the name as it .xxx would be intent considering the TLD is designated for adult. "hotornot.com" did this to fend off clone sites when they were popular, and demanded names from owners that held domains like sexyhotornot.com or whatever.
