If you want to know if they're any good do this.
Go to a site like fixedorbit.com and see what bandwidth providers they're using and how many peering agreements they have in place.
Find some sites hosted by them and see how fast they load from different parts of the country/world.
Call their tech support at 3 A.M. on Sunday and see how quickly they answer the phone and if there's actually anyone there to help you.
Nobody will ever tell you the company they host with currently sucks...they'll only tell you that companies they "used" to host with suck. So getting word of mouth from current customers isn't always the best way to find out.
