First .xxx hasn't passed - it may very well fail even though they beefed up the proposal. With the gov, Christians, and the others against .xxx it stands a good chance of not going through or getting a massive backlash if it does.
I can see and agree with an argument that our Gov and Christians and part of the adult industry doesn't want it - then it simply shouldn't be an allowed domain extension.
However with the adult industry I don't think group people are against it, at least not enough to take in time to voice an opinion through email. While they may not like the overall idea, they don't continue to do business in fear.
2257 is way more of a danger to us as an industry. What is being found out is "we can comply" with almost all parts of the new rules - however its our daily webmasters that can't.. I would be much more afraid of 2257 than .xxx
