You have lovely hair

A note about donating hair.. and this especially applies to Locks of Love. Do your research! In the case of Locks of Love, you don't have to go further then their site. How many hair pieces have they provided since they first started? Were those hair pieces free of charge? How many ponytails are needed to make a wig? How many ponytails do they receive each week? Notice any discrepancies? The biggest question of all (and one they never seem to step up and point out in these big cut-a-thons), are the majority of the kids receiving these wigs suffering from hair loss caused by cancer?

Don't get me wrong, everyone who has ever donated hair to them has acted out of the goodness of their hearts and I think that is wonderful. However, they donated under the assumption that their hair specifically was going to help a child, and the majority of the time a child with cancer. Just going by directly what is on the Locks of Love site, this is NOT the case.

Sorry for the rant, this is one particular issue that bothers me tremendously (obviously as I have lurked here for a VERY long time without feeling the need to post) My advice would be if you are going to cut your hair, go ahead and sell it to that rich old lady, and then donate the proceeds to a children's charity you feel strongly about.
