As I have stated countless times, the people that make the most sales promote their sites. Remember, most AVS systems have 10's of 1,000's of sites, so hoping the surfer is enticed by yours can be a challenge.
The guy that wrote that tutorial had one site with us, and promoted it on about 6-8 TGP's. He made 5 figures every month.
