What I guess you miss is that spyware companies (and those that seek profit from them) come and shit in your backyard every day. You can spend all your life trying to keep your backyard clean, only to have these people dump more shit in it every day.
At the end, this is proof of the old "buy you a drink or dinner at a show" smoothing over everything.
