if someone comes to you looking for work, the quality of work should not be determined by how much a one gets paid. all work should be of outstanding quality for three reasons - 1. so that person you're working for refers you, 2. so you have a better leg to stand on when asking for a pay increase and 3. there's a chance that person you're working for may give you a little extra money than you expected.

to say "you get what you pay for" in this situation, when she asked him for work and he was giving her a chance, is ridiculous. everyone should expect the best out of someone they pay. period!
